Funeral Tuesday for Clarice Meineke, 90

The funeral for Clarice M. Meineke, 90, a longtime Austin resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Crane Community Chapel in Austin, with the Revs. Joe Matt and David Matt officiating. Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetery in rural Austin.

Mrs. Meineke died Thursday at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin.

Clarice Lord was born March 21, 1906, in Wright County, Iowa, to Homer and Clara Lord. She married Cecil J. Meineke on April 4, 1923, in Wright County, Iowa, and spent most of her life in Austin. She was a member of the Crane Community Church in Austin.

She is survived by two sons, Merton Meineke of Austin, and Mel Meineke of Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Joan (Mrs. Jon) Jorgensen of Miami, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Classen-Jordan Mortuary and an hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
