Bennie Olson, once of Lyle, dies at 92

LYLE -- Bennie Olson, 92, a resident of Burr Oak Manor in Austin and formerly of Lyle, died Wednesday morning (Dec. 1, 1993) at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin.

He was born July 4, 1901, in Lyle Township, Mower County, and lived in the Lyle area all his life before moving to Austin. Mr. Olson had several occupations, including farming and a position with the Lyle Police Department. He was married and later divorced.

Survivors include a sister, Irene Olson of Fullerton, Calif. A son, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
