At Our Savior's
Hans Richardson, the son of Ole and Petrene Richardson, was born in Nevada township, December, 1, 1879.
He attended the Pinehurst Grade School when a young man. He has resided in the Lyle community all his life, being engaged in farming and highway maintenance work for thirty years, and for a short period served as village constable.
On February, 4, 1903, he was united in marriage to Julia Springer. One son, Orwin and a daughter, Hazel were born to this union. His wife preceded him in death January 4, 1908.
October, 19, 1913, he was united in marriage to Anna Olswald at Lyle and six children were born to this union. He and his wife were privileged to celebrate their Golden wedding in October, 1963.
He was taken ill suddenly Saturday night, February, 1, and died February 3 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage at the age of 84 years, two months and three days.
Surviving are his wife Anna; five daughters: Mrs. Norman (Hazel) Brekke, Bruno, Minn.; Mrs. Lloyd (Opal) Berg, Rose Creek; Mrs. Jack (Phyllis) Wallace, Fort Benning, Ga.; Mrs. Webster (Marlys) Johnson, Lyle; Mrs. Duane (Norma) Hannam, Toeterville: and three sons: Orwin and Maruice both of Lyle; and Lloyd of Dexter. Twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Vance Hotson of Lyle and a brother Gustav, of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia; his parents, four sisters, Nellie, Rena, Helen and Annie; and two brothers, Theodore and George.
Hans will be remembered by his family as a man who lived not for himself but for them.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February, 6, at Our Savior's Lutheran church with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating, with interment in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.
Relatives attending the services were from Dexter, Wayzata, Bruno, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Braaten, Sergeant, and Austin, Minn. also Benning, Ga.; Osage and St. Ansgar.
