John Nelson Funeral Held
Six Mile Grove

Funeral services for John Nelson, 78, who was killed in a car accident near Grafton May 9 were held Friday, May 13 at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. S. Klemesrud officiating and interment was in the church cemetery.

John Delfin Nelson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin D. Nelson, was born March 10, 1888 in Mower county, Minn., one of a family of eleven children.

He lived in the same community most of his life and was engaged in farming. He made his home with his parents until their death, then with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Klusmeier.

Because of failing health he entered the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar in December of 1965 and on May 1 he entered Mercy hospital, Mason City for a week's observation, and was returning to the Samaritan Center when he met with a fatal accident.

John was a life long member of Six Mile Grove church where he was baptized and confirmed.

He is survived by three sisters Mrs. William (Lila) Klusmeier of Rose Creek; Mrs. Walter (Helen) Baldner, Jr. Austin; and Mrs. Amanda Fossey of Lyle. Also three brothers, Raymond and Elmer of Austin and Alfred, Rose Creek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Herman (Selma) Austinson Mrs. A.H. (Clara) Colvin and Mrs. T. (Mabel) Enerson and one brother, Dave Nelson.

Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, William Klusmeier Jr., Walter Baldner Jr., Shirll Nelson, Robert Nelson, Wayne Fossey and Duane Enerson.

Relatives coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson and family of Freemont, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. L. Nelson of Owatonna. The rest were from Glenville, Albert Lea, Austin, Rose Creek and the surrounding areas.
