Viola J. Anderson, 94, of Rose Creek, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minn.

Viola June Peterson was born Feb. 4, 1919, in Belmond, Iowa, to Richard and Mina (McDonald) Peterson. Viola attended school in Austin, Minn. On March 14, 1936, she was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Anderson in Austin. The couple raised seven children. They farmed in the Oakland/Albert Lea and Rose Creek area. A member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in Lyle, Viola was a member of WELCA. She enjoyed quilting, making more than 120 quilt tops. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. Her smile touched everybody.

Survivors include her children, Lois Rogers of Unity, Wis., Erlys Edelstein of St. Louis Park, Minn., Dale (Joan) Anderson of Rose Creek, Marilyn (Duane) Lee of Rochester, Minn., Duane (Vicky) Anderson of Sun Prairie, Wis., David (Carol) Anderson of Lyle, Minn., Doreen (Tim) Carroll of Lyle; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sisters Darlene Berhow, Oakland, Minn., and Carla Miller of Onamia, Minn.; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mina Peterson; her husband Kenneth A. Anderson in 1988; sons-in-law Gaylen Rogers and Harlowe Edelstein; granddaughter Robin, grandson Gary; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; and four brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle, with Pastor Lydia Mittag and Pastor Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Visitation will be held at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Six Mile Grove Cemetery.
