Funeral services for Vance B. Hotson, 80, Lyle, were held January 28 at Our Savior's Lutheran church with the Rev. M. Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Woodbury Cemetery.

Mr. Hotson died Monday, January 25 from a heart attack.

Vance Bowers Hotson, son of Fred and Wilhelmina Hotson, was born in Lyle township September 23, 1890, and was a lifelong resident of Lyle township.

Vance Hotson and Della Richardson were married December 10, 1913. They established their home on a farm northeast of Lyle, where their youngest son, Wayne and family now reside. They lived there until they retired in Lyle October, 1949.

Mr. Hotson was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle, and a member of Church Brotherhood. He served on the church council and helped organize the London Lutheran church. He was a dedicated worker in the Woodbury Cemetery association. He served 22 years on the REA Board of Freeborn and Mower counties.

He is survived by his wife, Della; three sons, Dale, Milwaukee, Wis; Dean and Wayne of Lyle; one daughter, Mrs. Verner (Wilma) Schilling, Myrtle; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mae, and a daughter in infancy.
