Thorman Lund Rites Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral services were held for a former Lyle resident, Thorman O. Lund, 66, at Redeemer Lutheran CHurch at Moorhead, Minnesota Friday, June 8 and also at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church east of Lyle Saturday, June 9 with interment in the church cemetery, with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating.

Thorman Lund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole T. Lund was born in Lyle February 22, 1896. His parents operated a General Merchandise store there until 1918. He attended the Lyle high school and graduated there.

After leaving Lyle he lived in various places and the last years had lived in Fargo and Moorhead, Minnesota where he was employed for the Texaco Oil Company for many years. He also served in World War I.

He is survived by his wife (the former Florence Fritche) and two daughters, Judy of Moorhead and Carolyn of Minneapolis. Also three sisters, Miss Ruth Lund, Minneapolis, Miss Cora Lund and Mrs. Alice Elliot, both of Salem, Oregon.

Pallbearers were Art, Hamlin, Casper and Lawrence Ashley, Cliff Schroeder and Lloyd Dahl.
