A former Lyle resident, Mrs. Roy Volstad, 64, was brought back to Lyle for funeral services at Our Savior Lutheran church Saturday, December 3, with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating and interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Alice Aline Thompson was born at Lyle May 26, 1896, the daughter of Thomas and Othelia Thompson. She was baptized and confirmed in Lyle and attended the Lyle school.

She was united in marriage to Roy L. Volstad June 2, 1918 at Lyle. They resided at Lyle and Minneapolis before moving to Indianapolis, Indiana where they have lived since and where she died at the Methodist hospital, November 29, following several strokes.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Oyler, Marion, Indiana; two sons, Robert of Aurora, Colorado and William of Indianapolis and eight grandchildren. Also one brother, Clifford Thompson of Badger, Minnesota and one sister, Mrs. Art (Ora) Fortun of Lyle.
