Mrs. Sarah Nelson Rites Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral services for Mrs Sarah Nelson, 90, who died Saturday, November 12, were held Tuesday, November 15 at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating.

Mrs. Signe (Sarah) Nelson, daughter of Tollef and Toni Borgen, was born in Fyresdal, Telemarken, Norway July 13, 1870. In her native land she was baptized, confirmed and grew to womanhood.

In July, 1896 she and her brother Austin, emigrated to America and settled at Rose Creek, Minnesota where they had relatives

On July, 14, 1901, she was married to Ole D. Nelson by the Rev. J. Mueller Eggen. They lived their entire married life in the Six-Mile Grove area where they farmed. Her husband preceded her in death March 31, 1942.

For the past six years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Walter A. Wolff (Thelma) at Myrtle, Minnesota where she died November, 12, 1960 at the age of 90 years. She had been in failing health, and death was due to complications of old age.

She was a faithful member of the Six-Mile Grove Lutheran church, the Ladies Aid and Mission Circle.

She is survived by four children (Doris) Mrs. Walter Wolff of Myrtle; (Thelma) Mrs. Arthur Will of Northwood; Clifford of Lyle, Otto of Rose Creek and one step-son, Melvin of Rosholt South Dakota. Also ten grand children.
