Mrs. Ibert Hofland Funeral Held Thursday, June 19

Funeral services for Mrs. Ibert (Laura) Hofland of Otranto township, died June 15 at the Stacyville Nursing Home, were held June 19 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lyle, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating.

Laura Marie (Jacobson) Hofland, daughter of Jacob and Mary (Anderson) Jacobson was born April 4, 1895 in Mower county. She attended the Rose Creek school and resided in Mower County a short time before moving to Mitchell County.

July 24, 1923 she was united in marriage to Ibert Hofland at Circle, Mont. and they made their home in Otranto township near Mona. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church, the Esther circle, the Lyle American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother.

She is survived by her husband Ibert; one daughter, Lauretta Hayden of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Ira of Lyle and Carroll of Mason City; nine grandchildren, Elaine, Jerald and Melissa Hayden of Phoenix, Ariz.; James and Ronald Hofland of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Gary Hartwig of Northwood, and Lori, Kristy and Jay Hofland of Mason City; also five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters and one son, Bernard Jacobson.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona, with the Rev. Luecke in charge of the committal services.
