At Our Savior's

Funeral services for Mrs. Clifford Horgen, 75, were held at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle Wednesday, August 1 with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating with interment at Rose Creek Enterprise cemetery north of Lyle.

Mrs. Horgen died July 29 from a lingering illness of several strokes and had been confined to St. Olaf Hospital in Austin the past five weeks.

Jessie Gertrude Petit, daughter of George and Mary Pettit was born January, 15, 1887 at Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended school at Marshalltown and was married to Clifford Horgen at Mason City, Iowa October, 18, 1929. She has resided in the Lyle community since 1918 and has been a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church during that time.

She is survived by two sons, Harold Reed of Janesville, Wisconsin and Lyle Reed of Austin, Minnesota also six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband Clifford and two brothers Fred and Ernest and one sister Edna.

Pallbearers were Levi Larson, Bernard Sam, Walter Kuhl, Walter Dennison, Herman Skov and Floyd Lehman.

Out of town persons attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Pettit of Riceville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pettit, Charles City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shuemaker, Mrs. Hans Peterson, Mrs. John L. Rogers all of Osage; Mrs. Marvin Olson, Mrs. Belle Pettit, Northwood; Mrs. Louise Baldner, Adams; Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Reed, Iowa Falls, Mrs. Eva Gunderson, Brownsdale, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen and Mrs. Julia Hohnson, Austin.
