Funeral services for Mrs. Belle R. Strand, 83, were held at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle Saturday, December 30 at 3 p. m. with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating.

Bell Randena Strand was born April 8, 1878 in Rock County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Gunhild Swain. When a child she moved with her parents to Worth County, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On November 1, 1905 she was united in marriage to Adolph Strand of Mitchell County, Iowa. They moved to North Dakota, and after making their home there for 24 years, returned to make their home in Lyle.

Mrs. Strand had made her home the past 18 years with her daughter, Mrs. Walter Blowers at 1402- 6th St. N. W. in Austin, Minnesota. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle.

Surviving are her daughter, Inez (Mrs. Walter Blowers) of Austin; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Brox of St. Paul and Inga (Mrs. Oscar Halvorson) of Lyle; two grandsons, Robert Blowers of Austin and Larry Blowers, U. S. Air Force stationed at Charleston, South Carolina; also two great grandchildren, Angela Kay and Julie Ann Blowers; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Strand was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, an infant sister and her husband who died August 5, 1940.

Interment was at the Pleasant Hill cemetery south of Mona with Rev. Johnson in charge of the committal services.

Out of town person attending the funeral are Mrs. Fred Brox and Mrs. Larry Brox of St. Paul, Mrs. Dave McGreevy of Mankato, Mrs. Charles Culbertson of Carpenter, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Culbertson of Little Cedar and Nuel Clubertson of Chicago.
