Jack Rector of Lyle was awarded the Eagle Award during a ceremony April 7 at Lyle Legion and Auxiliary Hall.

Rector, 16, obtained his Eagle Scout qualifications in February 1991. He has been in scouting for six years, and has earned 22 merit badges and eight skill awards.

Gary Harrison, Commander of Lyle Post, presented Rector with a special plaque for his Eagle Award, and a similar one to hang in the Lyle Legion Hall.

In conjunction with fellow Boy Scouts, Rector's Eagle project was the firehouse community project painting, which will also be submitted for a ``youth project'' at the state level.
