John William 'Jack' Kline -- Lyle

LYLE -- The funeral for John William "Jack" Kline will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lyle, with the Rev Ruben Spinler officiating. A private burial service will be in Cedar City Cemetery.

Mr. Kline, 63, of Lyle, a longtime Hormel Foods Corp. employee, died Monday (Aug. 6, 2001) at his home.

He was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Albert Lea and graduated from high school in St. Ansgar, Iowa, in 1955. On Feb. 2, 1957, he married Carol Ann Barclay at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. For a number of years, he was a mechanic in various shops and for the past 34 years worked at Hormel. He also farmed with his sons. Mr. Kline was a member of the London Volunteer Fire Department for more than 40 years, a member of the Lyle American Legion, a charter member of the Lords of London Snowmobile Club, and a longtime member and treasurer of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lyle.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deanne (Robert) Silbaugh of Lyle; two sons, Gene (Darci) of Lyle and David (Mary) of London; nine grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Sue) of St. Ansgar; and five sisters, Diane (Roger) Zuehl of Racine, Wis., Nancy (Don) Salisbury of Rudd, Iowa, Janet (Robert) Bruetswitz of Rochester, Sonja (Tom) Yahnke of Allen, Texas, and Linda Currens of St. Ansgar. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and a brother.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin, where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m.
