Irene Getchell -- Austin

AUSTIN -- Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin for Irene Getchell, 77, a resident of Twin Towers in Austin. Mrs. Getchell died Saturday morning (Dec. 18, 1999) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. The Rev. Joe Matt officiated and interment was in Cedar City Cemetery.

Irene Caudill was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Whitesburg, Ky.

She enjoyed receiving greeting cards, playing bingo and cards and traveling. She especially enjoyed Christmas and giving gifts to her loved ones.

Survivors include five sons, Harold and Charles Getchell, both of Austin, David and Timothy Getchell, both of Phoenix, and Mark Getchell of Kenyon; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. David) Kamp of Austin and Carolyn Johnson of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Riley Caudill of Whitesburg, Ky., John David Caudill of McCuthenville, Ohio, and Curtis Caudill Jr. of Madison, Ill.

Her husband, Ernest Getchell, died Aug. 10, 1973. She also was preceded in death by an infant son and sisters and brothers.
