Our Savior's Church, Lyle

Funeral services for Mense P. Fossey, 91, of Lyle, Minn., who died Friday, May 1 at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held Monday, May 4 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Lyle, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating.

Mr. Fossey was born February 18, 1896 in Otranto Township, Mitchell County, the son of Anton and Olivia (Christianson) Fossey. He attended Pleasant Hill Prairie school. He was baptized and confirmed at Mona Lutheran church.

He married Amy Rustad on October 30, 1926 and farmed all his life in Otranto Township. He retired in 1963 and moved to Lyle.

Survivors include his wife, Amy of Lyle; two daughters, Mrs. Loren (Margaret) Meyer of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Emery (Norma) Price of Lyle, two sons, Allen of Preston, Minn. and Leo of St. Ansgar; a brother, George of Austin, Minn.; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Mr. Fossey was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Otto, Eddie, Charley and Alf; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Thompson, Mrs. Gilbert (Hannah) Martin and Mrs. Melvin (Eva) Martin.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona.
