Esther Josephine Everson -- Lyle

LYLE -- The funeral for Esther Josephine Everson, 87, of Lyle will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa.

Mrs. Everson died Monday morning (April 3, 2006) in Austin Medical Center.

Esther Johnson was born June 14, 1918, near Mitchell, Iowa. She married Lloyd Everson on June 30, 1937, in St. Ansgar, Iowa. She worked at Burghard Produce and Haakenson Grocery as well as at Van and Sterling Kraus as an administrative assistant. Mr. Everson died in December 1957. She lived in Lyle for nearly 65 years and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Richard of Austin and Phillip (Shirley) of Champlin; a daughter, Lola (Larry) Boerjan of St. Ansgar; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes Demaris of Riceville, Iowa. She was also preceded in death by a son, a grandson, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday.
