Held January 19

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna C. Volstad, 61, of Lyle, who died Friday, January 15, were held Tuesday, January 19 at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating.

Interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery in Mona.

Edna Claudina Hofland Volstad was born November 11, 1898, to Iver and Christina Hofland in Mitchell County, Iowa.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Mona Lutheran church. She attended school in Mona and spent her childhood on a farm near there. She was united in marriage to Victor Volstad June 24, 1925. To this union were born three children Victor, Jr., Vernon and Carolyn.

The first years of their marriage were spent in Austin and since 1931 they have resided in Lyle.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Ladies' Aid.

She is survived by her husband, Victor; sons, Victor, Jr., and Vernon, Victor Jr., being of Guttenberg, Iowa, and Vernon of St. Paul; a daughter, Carolyn, of Harmony; a granddaughter, Victoria Lynne; two brothers, Bert Hofland of Lyle, Jewett Hofland of Circle, Montana; three sisters, Lyla (Mrs. Arnold Enerson), Rose Creek, Mrs. Millie Groth, Enderlin, N. Dakota, and Mrs. Nettie Nelson, Vida, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Elmer, and a sister, Verna.
