Clifford C. Barclay, 81, of Lyle dies

LYLE -- Clifford C. Barclay, 81, of rural Lyle, a longtime area farmer, died Sunday morning (Oct. 31, 1993) at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea.

He was born Oct. 24, 1912, in London Township, Freeborn County, and attended rural Mower County schools. On Feb. 20, 1935, he married Dollee Campbell in Austin and they farmed in Mower County. He was a member of the Mower County Senior Citizens, the Lyle American Legion and the London Volunteer Fire Department, and had served on the Lyle Township Board.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol (Mrs. John) Kline of Lyle; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with the Rev. Mark Nordell officiating. Burial will be in Cedar City Cemetery in rural Austin.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
