Funeral services for a former Lyle resident, Clair Jorgenson, age, 39, of Newark, New Jersey were held at Worlein Funeral Home at Austin, Minnesota Saturday, June 10 with the Rev. M. H. Averbeck of the Bethel Alliance church in Lyle officiating. Interment was in Six Mile Grove Lutheran cemetery east of Lyle. The Lyle American Legion Post had charge of Military rites.

Clair Eugene Jergenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Jorgenson was born on a farm in Mitchell county near Mona July 8, 1922.

His childhood and early manhood was spent in the Lyle area. He enlisted in the Army at the beginning of World War II and served for 14 years, with a rank of staff sergeant.

He wounded in the "Battle of The Bulge" and sent back to a hospital in England where he spent several months. It was there he met his wife, the former Barbara Lee, of England. They were married October 12, 1945.

Three children were born to this union, Rebecca, 10, Carol, 4 1/2 and Michael, 2 1/2 years. They survive him.

Although he had spent a great deal of time in hospitals since his army life, his death however came very unexpectedly, when he passed away in Newark, New Jersey hospital from pneumonia June 5.

He survived by his wife Barbara, his three children, his mother Mrs. Esther Jorgenson of Lyle; a brother, Mark of Minneapolis; and three sisters, Mrs. Lavern (June) Leidall, Mrs. Brad (Donna) Dalager both of Lyle and Mrs. Dwight (Alta) Jennings, Minneapolis, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca and a brother, David.

Relatives attending the funeral were from Spring Valley, Austin, Minneapolis, Minn and Osage, Carpenter, and St. Ansgar, Iowa.
