As the last hours of 1914 were passing and ere the new year had been ushered in, the silver cord of life was severed and Christopher Knutson passed from this life, to the country from whence no traveler returns.

He was born March 8th, 1868 in Skudesnes, Norway. After following the sea for a number of years he immigrated to America in 1884 and settled near Decorah, Ia. In 1896 he moved to Cresco, Ia., where he lived 3 years and then moved to this vicinity and at the time of his death resided on the place known as the Richardson farm east of town.

He leaves two sons and 5 daughters, one son having died infancy. His wife passed away 18 years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. W. Winterdahl, Mrs. Anna Rasmusson, Mrs. Roy Dixon, Johnnie, Clara, Petra and Henry all of this vicinity. The funeral was held Jan. 7th at the Six Mile Grove church and interment was made in the church cemetery.
