Carolyn Isabelle Johansen -- Austin

AUSTIN -- A memorial service for Carolyn Isabelle Johansen will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Her body was cremated, and interment will be in Cedar City Cemetery in rural Austin at a later date.

Mrs. Johansen, 53, of Austin, died Friday (July 29, 2005) at Austin Medical Center.

Carolyn Isabelle Getchell was born Sept. 30, 1951, in Austin. She lived in the Houston, Texas, area for more than 20 years. In 2001, she was diagnosed with cancer and returned to Austin to be with her family. She worked at the Cedars of Austin as a housekeeper.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Getchell of Phoenix; two sons, Jeff Pamenter of Northfield, Minn., and Donald Johansen of Pendleton, Ore.; five grandchildren; five brothers, Harold (Sandra) Getchell and Charles Getchell, both of Austin, David (Kathy) Getchell and Tim Getchell, both of Phoenix, and Mark Getchell of Kenyon; and a sister, Mary (David) Kamp of Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be an hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
