AUSTIN -- David D. Ames, 57, of Redwood City, Calif., and an Austin native, died of a heart condition April 7, 1993, at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City.

Born July 26, 1935, in Austin, he graduated from Austin High School in 1952 and served with the Navy in the Pacific. He was an accountant all his working life.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Ames Larson of Austin; a brother, Vernon Ames of Austin; and three stepsisters, Mary (Mrs. Jerome) Gerhart of Brownsdale, Sharon (Mrs. Fred) Raap of Osborn, Idaho, and Laura (Mrs. Michael) McDeid of Sioux Rapids, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather and an infant brother.

There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Westby Chapel of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Mark Decker officiating. Burial will be in Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle.

Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin is in charge of local arrangements. There will be no visitation or reviewal. @et
