LYLE -- Alvin B. Nelson, 95, a lifelong Lyle-area resident, died Saturday (Oct. 26, 1991) at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Born Aug. 27, 1896, in Nevada Township, Mower County, he attended Nelson School in rural Lyle. He was a member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Jeanette Reuter of Austin, Harriet Miller of Minneapolis and Lillian Anderson of Rochester. Five sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in rural Lyle, with the Rev. Daniel Behnke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service at the church.
