Austin: Judge delays hearing for suspect in Lyle teacher's killing

A hearing to determine if a 14-year-old Lyle, Minn., youth will be tried as an adult on a murder charge has been postponed indefinitely so that the can receive psychiatric evaluation, Mower County officials said.

The youth is accused of killing public school teacher Sharon Turnbull this month in her home at Lyle. Her body was found Aug. 7 and officials said she died of a gunshot wound.

In a written statement, Mower County Court Judge Paul Kimball Jr. said the teen-ager changed attorneys Aug. 19. The boy is being held in the Olmsted County Jail in Rochester because it has juvenile facilities.
