Martin Willinger Funeral Held Mona Lutheran

Funeral services for Martin Willinger, 82, of Mona, who died Friday, May 30 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, Osage, were held Monday, June 2 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. S. Klemesrud officiating.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Martin Willinger was born on August 11, 1886 in Bergen, Norway. He was baptized and confirmed int he Lutheran faith in Norway. In 1906 at the age of 20 he came to the United States and settled in Lyle.

On June 7, 1916 he was married to Melia Horgen and they farmed in the Mona & Lyle area, and he was employed by Geo. A. Hormel Co., Austin, until his retirement. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in June of 1966. He was a faithful and devout member of the Mona Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife, Melia; a sister, Hellemina, Norway, one nephew, Robert Horgen and one niece, Mrs. Curtis (Margaret) Fischer, and several nieces and nephews in Norway.
