The funeral of Mrs. Jorgen Thompson, who passed away at her home near Mona, Oct. 21, after a lingering illness, was held Saturday, Oct. 24, Rev. Langebough officiating. The deceased was born in Songdahl, Norway, Oct. 13, 1838, and was married to Jorgen Thompson, June 28. 1866. In 1874 they immigrated to America and shared the toils, privations and comradeship of the early settlers. To them were born six children, five of whom are left to mourn the departure and cherish the memory of a noble, loving mother. They are Ole and Mary at home, John of Meltonville, Ia., Emma Robertson of Dupree, S. D., Ella Dense of Stacyville, Iowa. One daughter, Jennie, died at the age of 16. Mrs. Thompson is also survived by 11 grand children and 3 great grand children.
