Graveside Rites For Marion Schmidt At Pleasant Hill

Graveside rites for Marion M. Schmidt, 61, who died February 13 in Faribault, Minn., were held Monday, April 23 at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Mona.

Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 105 of Lyle conducted military rites. Mr. Schmidt is survived by his wife, Lona; a daughter, Mrs. Victor (Judith) Person; a granddaughter, Carla Smith and great granddaughter, Sherrie; a step son, Donald Peterson and family of two girls and two boys.

He served as American Legion commander of the Lyle Post in 1948-49, and as commander of the Faribault Post 43 in 1970-71. Mr. Schmidt also was active in other civic affairs.

Attending the services were Donald Peterson of Green Bay, Wis.; Dr. and Mrs. G.V. Greiner of Winnebago, Minn.; and Mr. And Mrs. Louis Blakestad and Mrs. Myrtle Tollefson of St. Ansgar. Following the rites lunch was served at the Lyle Legion hall by Auxiliary members, Mrs. Erna Schaufenbil, Ruth Austinson, Doris Lee and E. Drenth.
