Mrs. Amund Olson Died Tuesday Evening

News of the death of Mrs. Amund Olson came as a shock to her friends Wednesday morning, when it was learned that she had passed away Tuesday evening about 11:30 after an hours illness.

For years, she had not been in good health, but there was nothing of a serious nature to indicate to those about her that the end was near. She seemed as well as usual until about 10:00 o'clock Tuesday evening when she was taken very ill. Aid was summoned, but the angel of death was hovering near, ere those in attendance realized what was happening, the mother had gone into the great eternity.

The deceased was permitted to enjoy a long and useful life, and was said to the only great-great-grandmother in the community.

Mrs. Olson was born in Mandal, Tellemarken, Norway, Dec. 6th 1848 (death certificate says 1849). About fifty years ago, she came with her husband and settled in this community where she resided until her death. For 28 years, the family resided on a farm four miles west of Lyle, and during the past 22 years have lived in Lyle. Besides her husband, there is left to mourn her sudden demise, three sisters in Norway; three sons, Sam, Eggen and Ole; five daughters, Mrs. N. Dennis, Mrs. E.H. Schwanke, Mrs. W.B. Helfritz, Mrs. Geo. Jahr and Mrs. Julia Peterson. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the house at 2:00 o'clock, and the Lutheran church at 2:30.
