Louis Edwin Larson, the son of John and Martha Larson, was born at Mona, Iowa, on September 23, 1889. He was baptized and confirmed at the Mona Lutheran church and has since been a member of the Trinity Lutheran Parish. He had served as an officer of the Brotherhood and a member of the Board of Deacons. For 8 years he was a member of the Lyle Public school board. He enjoyed the hobbies of wood-carving and music. Because of his interest in people he has cultivated many close friends. He was fond of children and won their confidence and it is possible that Louis Larson made a deeper impression on the children of our community than any other living person.
On June 15, 1912 he was united in marriage to Helga Berg. To this union 2 daughters were born. For a few years they lived at Northwood, Iowa before coming to Lyle in 1917. Mr. Larson is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mona at home and Mrs. Harriet Reistad of Austin; on granddaughter, Beverly Reistad and son-in-law, Chester Reistad of Austin; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Nelson of this community and Mrs. Newton Bigelow of Austin; also two brothers, Alfred of this community and George of Phoenix, Arizona.
