Lewis A. Larson, highly respected and well known member of Our Savior's Lutheran church passed peacefully away, Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2:15 P. M., 1938.

He was born April 13, 1873 at Mona, Mitchell County, Iowa.

He was confirmed in the Christian faith at the Mona church by Rev. J. M. Eggen. In 1901, he moved to his farm northwest of Lyle where he resided until his death.

On Feb, 15, 1914, he was united in marriage to Bertha Litsheim, by the Rev. A. E. Moe. Had he lived until February, their silver wedding anniversary would have been celebrated. To this union was born, one son Levi, who together with his mother, and half sister, Borghild of Rock Island, survive a kind and loving husband and father. He is also survived by three sisters and 3 brothers, brothers: Mrs. Gunder Larson and Gustav of Mona, Mrs. Mina Lomen of Deer Creek, Minn. John, Arne and Mrs. Clara Rawn. One sister Mrs. Nels Hanson, preceded him in death.

Mr. Larson suffered much during his lingering illness of many years. He constantly looked forward to the hour when he would depart to be with Him, whom having not seen, he loved.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 P. M., and at Our Savior's Lutheran church at Lyle, Wednesday Dec. 28, Rev. Langehough officiating.

"The night was long, the morning came, as he went home to rest. A voice he heard. It was the Lord's, who came to call him home."

We'll miss his face, but we do not want him back, for he has gone to a fairer home. Patiently, he suffered, his troubles he bore, but now it is ended, he suffers no more.

To sleep we leave him in peace, and at rest. The parting was painful but God knows best.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our relatives, friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness, and expressions of sympathy during the many year of illness, and after the death of our dear husband and father. We especially wish to thank Rev. Langehough, Mrs. Sola, Dahl Quartette, the pall bearers, those who gave floral offerings, and memorial wreaths, and every one who in any way helped us.
