OBITUARY

The death of Mrs. Carlson, who has been ailing for some time, occurred Sunday. It was not until the past four weeks that she was confined to her bed.

The funeral was held from the home at 1:30 and the Mona church Tuesday afternoon and she was laid to rest in Pleasant Hill cemetery, her six sons being pall bearers. Rev. O. M. Langehough conducted the service.

Mrs. Oline Carlson slept peacefully away at her home one mile south of Mona Sunday August 16 at 7:30 at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 7 days. She was born in Lille Strommen, Norway, Feb. 9, 1858. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at that place. At the age of 15 years she came to America and made her home with her brother at Mona, Iowa, until her parents came a year later. At the age of 19 she was united in marriage to Gustave Carlson. They first settled in Hancock county, Iowa, where they resided for three years then moved to Mitchell county and settled on the farm one mile south of Mona where she resided until her death. Her husband preceded her in death 13 years ago.

Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Carlson; Charley, Minnie Anderson, Emma, who passed away at the age of 17 years. Gilbert, Godfred and Rudolph, all living in this vicinity; Edwin and Raymond residing on the home farm. The deceased is also survived by four grandchildren, one brother Anton Christianson living at Osage, and three sisters, Mrs. Peter Olson, of Lankin, N. D. Mrs. Emil Christianson, of Wisconsin, Mrs. Ole Jorgenson, of Olso, Norway and a host of other relatives and friends.

The deceased was a faithful and deligent worker in the church and in the Ladies Aid society and a faithful church goer, always attending unless she was ailing. She will be greatly missed in her circle of friends, having been a friend to all, but we shall not remember her as dead but sleeping. Peace be to her memory.
