OBITUARY

Peter Nelson of Winnipeg, Can., died at the H. S. Halvorson home at Fertile Minn., Monday Feb. 21st, death being caused by pneumonia.

Mr. Nelson was born in Christiania, July 24, 1850 and moved to Illinois in 1852. He came to this vicinity with the family when a boy. He also made his home at Austin for a number of years, and lived at Fargo 22 years.

Eight years ago he moved to Winnipeg, Canada. He was united in marriage, 44 years ago, to Dorah Harriet Johnson of Austin, Minn. To them were born 6 children, 4 residing in Washington, D. C., and 2 in North Dakota.

He is survived by one brother, Lauritz Nelson of London, and three sisters; Mrs. J. Halvorson Clear Lake, Iowa, Miss Lisa Nelson of Clear Lake, Ia., and Mrs. Amos Olson of St. Ansgar, Iowa, all of whom were present at the funeral except Mrs. Halvorson. Others from out of town, attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Halvorson and Mrs. Rosemond, Clear Lake, Mrs. H S Halvorson of Fertile, Minn., the Lauritz Nelson family of London, Mrs. Chris Hjort of Albert Lea and Herbert Scheffle.

The funeral was held from the Lyle Lutheran church, Feb. 24. Interment in Six Mile Grove Cemetery.
