Lulu Hughson Funeral Held At Austin June 14

Funeral services for a former Lyle resident, Mrs. Lula Hughson, 83, were held June 14 at First Methodist church in Austin with Dr. William Law officiating with interment in Woodbury cemetery west of Lyle.

Mrs. Hughson died very suddenly last Thursday at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin following spine surgery for a blood clot. She had returned to her home in Austin only the previous Sunday from California where she had spent the winter with her son, Ward J. Hughson at El Monte.

Mrs. Hughson, the former Lula Rice, lived a good portion of her life in Lyle and the vicinity before moving to Austin. When a young woman she was employed in the Dixon Hotel in Lyle.

She is survived by five sons, Milford J. Carroll of Austin; Ward J. Hughson, El Monte, Calif.; Dor L. Hughson, Canoga Park, Calif.; Albert E. and Arthur L. Hughson, both or Austin; also ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
