Thomas M. Martin, a prominent and well-to-do farmer, residing on the bank of the Cedar River, three miles west of Lyle, dropped dead Wednesday morning while doing chores near the barn. Mr. Martin was pumping water for the stock when death came swiftly. He had pumped a half pail water when he stopped, as if to catch his death and fell to the ground dead. One of his sons was standing by when the fatality occurred. Mr. Martin was about 53 years of age. He was very freshy and had suffered from heart attacks. He was married and leaves a wife and seven children. He has resided in Lyle township of about 25 years.- The Northwood Anchor.
