Tom Martin
Died Suddenly

The many friends of Tom Martin were shocked Monday morning when they learned of his sudden death which occurred at his home that morning. Mr. Martin had been pumping water for the stock when all at once he appeared to be out of breath and fell over. His son immediately rushed to aid him but he died in a few minutes.

The deceased was well known in this community where he has lived for many years. He has been suffering for some time from heart attacks. He was in Lyle Saturday greeting his many friends in his usual jovial manner. He was a good scout and will be greatly missed among his friends and neighbors.

Thomas Martin was born at Fennimore, Wisconsin, May 3, 1868, and lived there until 1897, when he moved to this country where he has since made his home with the exception of three years, when he lived near Adams. In November 1896 he was united in marriage to Magna Gunderson, and to them were born 8 children, all of whom survive. They are Arthur, Clifford, Mrs. Frank Copp, Lillian, Galen, and Judine of this place, Mrs. John Hoffman of Minneapolis, Melvin of Fort Mills, Phillipine Islands. Besides his wife he is survived by five sisters.
