Sorine Samuelson Christianson was born in Grue, Prestejeld, Solor, Norway, October, 14th, 1860 and after a lingering illness passed away at her home at Mona, Iowa, Sunday October 9th at 2 P. M., having attained the age of 77 years, 11 months and 24 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her native land and grew to womanhood there.

In 1882 she immigrated to the United States, making her home with the Hans Samuelson and Halvor Hansen families of Mona. She was united in marriage, December 6th, 1885 to John Christianson, and to this union 8 children were born, two of whom have preceded her in death: Hazel who died in infancy, and Sven Palmer having passed away last April.

Those remaining to mourn her departure besides her husband are: Edwin of Austin, Mrs. Irene Lee of Carpenter, Iowa Minnie, Clara, Ruth and Eva of Mona; also four sisters; Mrs. Jennie Norbert, of Duluth Minn., and three in Norway.

She was at the time of her death, an honor member of the Mona Ladies Aid. She was a kind and loving mother, and will be greatly missed by her family.

Her illness was of such a nature that she suffered much, but she was a patient sufferer to the end.

Funeral services were held at the Mona church on Wednesday Oct. 12 at 2 P. M. Rev. Langehough officiating.
