Simon E. Myhre, age, 75, died at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin early Sunday morning from a heart condition, where he had been a patient only one week.

Funeral services were held at Our Savior Lutheran church in Lyle Thursday, April, 23, at 2 p. m. with the Rev. G. E. Knudson of Austin, Minn. officiating, with interment at Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Simon Myhre was born at Silver Lake, Iowa, June, 20, 1884 to Tom and Mary Myhre and came to Lyle when only a small boy. He received his education in the Lyle school and on October, 30, 1907 married Ida Westrum. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1957 and his wife died just two weeks later.

He has lived in the Lyle community for the past 70 years, and had been the Lyle village constable for eight years retiring just last year.

Survivors are two daughters, (Doris) Mrs. C. H. Nocross, Mason City, (Nadine) Mrs. C. D. Wolcott, Austin, three sons Thomas of Auroa,Ill., Dale of Fairmo, Minn. and Robert of Lyle, Twenty-grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also three sisters, Mrs. A. A. Lee Lyle, Mrs. Marlin Johnson of Rochester and Mrs. Adolph Thompson of Mona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one infant daughter and a sister Clara.
