Olson, 77, at Mona

Funeral services for Mr. August Olson, 77, of Mona, were held Sunday, July 17, 1955 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanford O. Stenson officiating.

August Olson, son of Andrew and Johanna Olson, was born August 2, 1877 in Smaalene, Norway. In 1882 he came to this country with his parents and had since resided in the Mona community. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.

Mr. Olson had been in failing health for a number of years. On June 29, he underwent an exploratory operation at the St. Olaf hospital in Austin. For a time he appeared to be on the way to recovery. However, one week after the operation he commenced to weaken and passed away at the hospital July 14, 1955. Cause of death was cancer of the pancreas and arteriosclerosis.
