Peter K. Everson, who lived south of this village just across the Iowa line,w as found hanging in his barn early Monday morning, Sept. 9, 1901, where he had evidently committed suicide. No adequate cause for the act can be found as he was in good circumstances.

He was born Jan. 12, 1843, in Hollingdahl, Hemstidahl, Hustad, Norway, emigrated with his parents to this country in 1845 and located in Wisconsin. In 1851 the family moved to Clayton county, Iowa, and thence to Mitchell county, Iowa, where he has since resided.

He was married December 2, 1868 to Sorines Mork. They lived on his father's farm for three years and then moved on the farm where the family now resides. He lives a wife and seven children: Mrs. R. Reirson and Alfred E. of Lyle village, George, Phillip, Clara, Gusta and Henrietta who are still at home.

Funeral services will be held under Masonic auspices at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. C. D. Belden of Austin officiating. Interment at Mona.
