1896-10-30 - Peter A. Johnson is about to build a new building on his lot south of the Tribune office, in which he will start a jewelry store, with a tin shop in the rear. Both hardware stores have given up the tinning business to him, which will make him a nice little business.
1897-07-30 - Geo. Robertson & Co., sold their entire stock of jewelry and watches to P. A. Johnson, Tuesday. Mr. Robertson thought that three jewelry stores did not pay in this town.
1897-08-06 - Having sold an interest in the tin shop to Mr. Hughes, I am now able to attend promptly to all watch and clock repairing. - P. A. Johnson.
1898-01-14 - O. A. Anderson is now the sole owner and proprietor of the entire jewelry business of the city, he having this week bought out the stocks of P. A. Johnson and Geo. Robertson & co. For two years or more we have had three jewelry stores apparently doing a thrifty business, then we had two and now only one. Anderson may be called a jewelry monopolis and his business a "trust" on a small scale. Mr. Johnson will continue to run the Main street store, same as if nothing had happened, Anderson and he having entered into some agreement that is considered satisfactory to both parties.

1908-05-15 - A. B. Johnson, who for a number of years was in the jewelry and furniture business in this village, has decided to open up a work shop where he will do all kinds of jewelry and watch repairing. He will occupy the Lund building recently vacated by P. A. Johnson.
1915-12-17 - P. A. Johnson has opened up a jewelry store again. Don't fail to make a visit to the store and look over the new goods.
1918-09-20 - Larson Bros. traded their barshop building and fixtures Friday to P. A. Johnson for the residence property on Locust street, now recently occupied by the Briese family. Mr. Johnson proposes to make some changes and move his jewelry and watch repairing shop. He will put in a small stock of jewelry and of course will continue in the land business.
1918-12-20 - New stock of jewelry at P. A. Johnson's, the Jeweler.
1923-07-06 - P. A. Johnson has sold his jewelry stock, and the new proprietor is expected to take charge soon. He will also occupy the rooms above, vacated by Jas Palmer, who moved into the Cobb apartments.
1923-07-13 - "Ready For Business" - C. D. Cary and wife of Cashton, Wis., who recently purchased the jewelry stock and fixtures from P. A. Johnson, arrived in Lyle Friday and have been busy this week getting settled in the rooms over the store. His father-in-law, G. E. Taylor and family came with Mr. Carey and spent a few days here. The new proprietor is fully equipped to do all kinds of watch and jewelry repairing.
