OBITUARY.

Othelia Amalia Knutson-Thompson.
Born Sept. 18, 1877
Died April 14, 1911

Words can but faintly express the deep sympathy and tender feeling that goes out to the Tom Thompson family who were so suddenly bereft of a loving wife and mother. Her cheerful countenance will be missed from our village and her faithful interest in the church must cease, but they who have known her tender care and devotion in the home, as well as friends and neighbors, will ever cherish her memory.

The deceased was born in Lyle 33 years and 7 months ago, and has made this vicinity her home, with the exception of 5 years. On October 12th, 1895 she was married to Thos. B. Thompson by Rev. Eggen. After living in Lyle several years they moved to Austin for five years. The family then moved back to Lyle, and for the past 7 years have made their home here.

Four children blessed this union; the oldest about 15 years and the youngest nearly 7. They are Alice Alma, Ora Theodor, Clifford Theodore and Grace Lillian. Besides the husband and the deceased leaves a mother Mrs. Knutson, and a grandmother, Mrs. Olia Colbjornson, both living within a few miles of Lyle; also three brothers, Knut, Oliver and Johnnie and a sister, Miss Annie Knutson.

Mrs. Thompson was seemingly in good health and up to March 20th never complained of being ill. She was taken ill with pneumonia which soon developed in acute tubercular. She was taken to the hospital at Austin where she was given the best medical attention, but science could not stay the ravages of the dread disease, and after then days she passed into the great beyond from whence no traveler returns.

The remains were brought here Saturday and the funeral was held in the Lutheran church of Mona, of which denomination she has been a life long member. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill.
