Old Mr. Strand, father of John and Knut Strand, has been very sick the past few weeks and it is thought his recovery is impossible.

LATER.-- We learn from Dr. Cobb that the old gentleman died this morning. He was 75 years of age and had been afflicted with kidney and bladder trouble for some time.
