THE REMAINS OF OMAR
JAHR BURIED HERE FRIDAY

Omer Avery Jahr passed quietly away at his home in Galena, Illinois Wednesday Sept. 25, last. He was born October 6th, 1912. He was 14 years, 11 months and 22nd, at the time of his death.

He was born in Lyle and resided here until the 9th of June last year when he moved to Galena, Illinois with his parents. Omar was baptized, confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran church which he attended while living here. He attended the Lyle public school until he was compelled due to illness to discontinue his school work.

Omer was a patient and cheerful sufferer bearing his burden without any complaint.

He leaves to mourn his departure his parent Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jahr; five brothers, Orris, Glydon, Noran, Vernon and an infant brother, and one sister, Thelma, besides his many relatives and friends in Lyle.

The funeral services were conducted at the Helfritz home and at the Lyle Lutheran church by Rev. O. M. Langehough.

A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled
The boon his love had given,
And tho the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in Heaven.

Those who were here from away to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Lester Ross of Lamont, Iowa and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Schultz of Grafton, Iowa.
