Ole A. Hofland was born in Sogn[illegible:?], Norway on 3 August 1848. At the age of 19 he came to America and settled at Stoughton Wisc. Three years later he moved to Mitchell County, Iowa and married Betsey Kramme on 21 Feb. 1873 at Adams. The couple were the parents of 13 children, 2 of whom died infancy. Besides his wife, 4 children preceded him in death. Mrs. Hofland died on 28 July 1922 and Minnie, Willie and Horace and Faith are dead. Those who survive are his children: Albert of Enderlin, N. D.; Oscar of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Bertha, Mrs. Pete Groth of La Moure, N. D.; Orphia, Mrs. O. Kirkewooa of Wheeler, Wisc., Clifford of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.; Ruth, Mrs. Olaf Sanland of Minneapolis.

Mr. Hofland is also survived by 5 brothers and 1 sister; Sever of Star Prairie, Wisc; Anfin of Velva, N. D. Ed. Iver[illegible:?] and Andrew of Lyle. Mrs. John Thorstad of Star Prairie, Wisc.

For the past 6 years he lived with his daughter, Ruth; Mrs. Olaf Sandland of Minneapolis, at whose home he passed away April 9. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 13 in the Mona Church. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
