Dennis, Newton

The community was shocked Sunday morning when it became known that Nute Dennis had passed away. He went upstairs to get ready to go to church, and when he did not come down his wife went to make investigation. He was dead. The funeral was held Wednesday.

Mr. Dennis was a hard worker, having had an extensive gardening project on the past summer. Now the work is done and the produce garnered, and he has laid aside his tools for this life.

Newton, Dennis, youngest son of Isaac and Mary Dennis, was born March 12, 1877 at Waltham, Minn.

He spent his younger years at Waltham. In 1915 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Johnson. The year following their marriage, they moved to Lyle. The same year he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Moe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Lewis and Mrs. Catherine King of Austin, Minn. Four step-children, Mrs. Herman Berndt and Mrs. Kelsie Webster of Austin, Mrs. Fred Wollenburg of Minneapolis and Floyd Johnson of Isanti, Minn., also several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was a man of good moral character, who was devoted to his family and was a good church member. His presence will be missed.
