Mrs. Rhoda Schroeder Funeral Held At Mona Lutheran Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Rhoda C. Schroeder, 78, of Mona, who died at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, Minn., September 20, were held September 23 at Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating.
Rhoda Cynthia Schroeder was born July 9, 1903 in Selby, S.D., the daughter of Hans and Sarah (Hill) Hilde. They moved to Lyle in 1910 where she resided until her death. She graduated from Lyle high school in 1923 and attended Winona State Teachers College. Mrs. Schroeder was a rural school teacher in the Myrtle area for six years.
She married Clifford G. Schroeder in Austin December 7, 1929. They farmed all their married life south of Lyle. Mr. Schroeder died in 1968.
Mrs. Schroeder was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was active as a Sunday school teacher or superintendent for many years, a W.M.F. president for many years, Circuit Officer for four years, ALCW officer, Circle member and a member of the Quilting group.
She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Clifford M. Schroeder of Blooming Prairie, Minn. and Ralph C. Schroeder of Naperville, Ill.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona, with the Rev. Grant in charge of the committal services.
