Minard H. Hanson
1908-1986

Minard H. Hanson was born Oct. 1, 1908 in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minn., the son of John and Lena Hanson. He attended Gregg School in Nevada Township.

In 1953, he was united in marriage with Gladys Zeigler in Albert Lea, Minn. Following the marriage, they moved to Corvallis, Ore., where he was employed as a carpenter. In 19527 the returned to Lyle, Minn., where he farmed. His wife, Gladys, passed away in 1960.

He was united in marriage with Grace Hess on Dec. 17, 1966.

Minard was a lifetime member of Six Mile Grove Church. He died May 8, 1986, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home, Austin, Minn.

Surviving are his step-son and wife, Sherman and Virginia Hess, Portland, Ore.; three step-grandchildren; three sisters, Bernetta Anderson, Willetta Meyer, Austin; Lillian Enright, R.R. Rose Creek; a brother and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Adele Hanson, Lyle; Myrtle Hanson, Austin; nieces; nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace; his parents; a sister, Mrs. Clara Helgeson; a brother, Francis Hanson.

Funeral services were held May 12, 1986, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, Lyle, Minn., Pastor Gaylord Grant officiating. Interment was in Six Mile Grove Cemetery, Lyle. Casketbearers were David Anderson, Lawrence Enright, Brian Hanson, Glen Helgeson, Dean Hanson, Loren Meyer. Charles Ekle was soloist and Mrs. Ervin Helgeson, organist.
