Funeral services for Mrs. Mina Kilgore, 74, of Mona, who died Thursday, January 8 at the Mitchell County hospital in Osage, were held Sunday, January 11 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gordon Rasmussen officiating.

Mina Kilgore, daughter of Eberhardt and Alice Johnson was born May 1, 1884 in Mitchell county, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran church where she had always been a member. She was an honorary member of the Mona Ladies Aid.

On May 1, 1907 she was united in marriage to George L. Kilgore of Otranto township. Five children were born to this union. The Kilgores resided in Lyle for a number of years before moving to Mona where they had made their home.

For the past five years Mrs. Kilgore had made her home with her daughter, Adeline. The last of February she was taken sick and then submitted to surgery September 8 from which she never fully regained her strength. She was taken to the Mitchell County Memorial hospital December 28 and died of a heart attack January 8 at the age of 74 years, eight months and seven days.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died July 4, 1929. Mrs. Kilgore is survived by her five children, Adeline (Mrs. Rueben Geffert) of Mona; Erma (Mrs. Leo Baumgartle) of Austin; Mildred (Mrs. Mel Rucker) and Alberta (Mrs. Roy Indahl), both of Minneapolis; also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Kilgore of Austin, Mrs. Carrie Nelson and Mrs. Millie Carlson of Lyle; two brothers, Edwin of Des Moines and John of Minneapolis; also a host of other relatives and friends.

Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery with Rev. Rasmussen in charge of the committal services.
