Mrs. John I. Johnson passed away at the St. Olaf hospital Saturday morning, February 2nd, at 12:25 a. m. after an illness of 2 weeks at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 26 days.

She was born in Mitchell County, Iowa December 7, 1869 to Erick and Gertrude Erickson and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended the Drown school in Mitchell County.

The later Mrs. Johnson was united in marriage to John I. Johnson of Elbow Lake, Minnesota on December 31, 1912 at Austin and they lived on her father's farm in Mitchell County until they moved to their home in Lyle on March 1, 1916 where she made her home until her death.

She was a member of "Our Savior's Lutheran Ladies' Aid".

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her mother and father, three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Thorstad, Mrs. Josephine Hofland and Mrs. Christina Hofland and two brothers, John and Erick Erickson.

She is survived by her husband, John I. Johnson of Lyle and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Feb. 5th at 1:30 o'clock at her home and at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle. Rev. S. Gjervik officiated at the services and interment at the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Pall bearers were John Sandveg, Bert Steene, Alfred Ostenson, Frank Bedford, Raymond Gerber and John Aanonson.

Those from a distance attending were: Mrs. Harman Nelson of Vida, Montana and Mrs. Archie Groth of Enderlin, North Dakota.
